To be or not to be, what was the question?

I dreamed I was a fish
swimming through the river
that flowed down into the ocean
where I became a whale
and continued out and beyond
to the end of the ocean.
I walked out of the water,
jumped up into the air
and flew above the mountains
soaring and floating
carefree, happy, yet
still looking for something
or someone
never really sure
but there is a tiny corner
of my soul that is
ever so often
looking, watching, waiting,
for something
or someone to
inspire, motivate, calm, fill
its emptiness.

Under, The Inevitable End

4th installment

written by my anonymous sister friend

lt is you, isn't it?, lt asked.
l tried to think of a reply because l had an idea what it meant.
You are the one who screams and freaks out and leaps about
and then......then.....', with that it shuddered, and couldn't finish.
l looked behind it at thousands of eyes all staring at me.
'well, um....wait a minute!' the spider jumped back as l stepped forward.
'How come l can talk to you?' l asked.
'l know l've changed but really, l could never talk to you before'
'Everybody speaks the same language here.' it said
Cool.' l said. 'Yes l must admit, that l am she. l do all that
and more.' l started pacing back and forth thinking. Suddenly
l realize it could answer MY questions. 'Why', l asked, 'why do you spiders torment me? Why, when you know what l do? You know l dislike you?' l was really warming up now. 'l shudder and shriek and still you enter. l stamp, l jump and still you come. l flatten and squash, you will not leave me alone. WHY? WHY? WHY?' l drew a deep breath. 'lf you left me alone, l'd leave you alone.'
'Then remove the welcome sign' said the spider.
'What welcome sign?' l asked.
'The one you have hanging in the window. All those colours. Sooooooooo pretty. We were going to eat you but it's been an honest mistake. We'll let you off but only once.'
With that they all jumped and leaped and stamped about, shrieking and screaming. Then they were gone.
'God damn spiders were mimicking me"

now continuing

I stood there for a minute.
What did all this mean??
Here I was, a few inches tall, just
having had a conversation with a SPIDER.
I sank to my knees.
I just wanted this to be over.
I wanted to be a regular sized human again.
I sat back leaning against the flower stem.
I closed my eyes.
hmmmm what if I promised to never stomp on another spider.
Could I be big again?
I don't know who I was asking.
Would they answer me?
I opened my eyes and peered up at the sky.
The dark clouds and rain had been banished by the brilliant blue sky and fluffy white clouds.
I smiled and lay down. I stared up at the changing clouds.
Ooooh there is a rabbit. No maybe a frog.
Ahhhhh now its a whale.

"Suzanne?'
"Hey Suzanne?"
"Sleeping Beauty, wake up!"

I jerked up quickly and than fell off my chair.
Oooooh my neck and my back were aching.
Someone was laughing.
The spider you were screaming about is outside in the garden now.
You can come back to bed .

I smiled, stood up and headed for the bedroom.
Back to normal.
It was only a dream.
I lay down in bed and pulled the covers over me.
Closed my eyes.
I opened my eyes and screamed.
I LIVE ALONE.
WHO PUT THE SPIDER OUT.
I got up and ran to the patio door.
There was a spider standing there and I swear it was looking at me.
I thought for a second. If my experience really happened maybe this spider
spoke to me. I nodded to the spider. It nodded back at me.

I turned and walked over to my computer.
I ordered a spider trap.
I will not stomp on anymore spiders.
Unless they come running at me first that is.

This is the end of my silly little story.

What will be next????

Under - The Third Installment

3rd installment

(as written by my anonymous sister friend)

nothing.
all was quiet......too quiet.
l peaked around the mushroom
and came eye to eyes, eight to be exact
with a fuzzy jumping spider.
we both screamed.
SPIDER!!
HUMAN!!
l jumped back, it jumped.
boy could it jump.
and then it was gone.

now continuing

I screamed.
And screamed.
And screamed.
I hate am terrified of spiders, tiny little
spiders. This was NOT a tiny little
spider.
Wait, did it say something that I understood.
Yes it screamed HUMAN as I was screaming
SPIDER.
I took a breath and let my heart return to normal
beats per minute.
It could speak. IT COULD SPEAK.
Suddenly I knew I needed to
find that god damn spider.
Yes, find it.
George had disappeared.
I decided to go after the spider,
or at least go in the direction it
had jumped. The rain had pretty much
stopped so I was safe from that.......
I started to jog through the grassy
jungle, listening for sounds of the
spider ahead of me.
Mumbling?
What was I hearing.
It sounded like mumbling, someone
talking to themselves.
I couldn't make out the words.
I slowed down. I was not
sure who or what I was coming close to
but I wanted to be careful.
"Who's there?" someone yelled out.
I stopped. I had gotten close.
"Ahhh, Hello?" I said. "Don't freak out,
I just want to meet you. I'm coming towards you."
I started ahead without waiting for
an affirmative. I stepped around the
base of a towering flower and
stopped. There in front of me
was not one, but  what looked like
a whole family of god damn spiders.
The littlest ones started to cry.
They hid behind their mother?
I couldn't tell who was male or female.
The one that I had seen earlier came forward.
I tried to stand tall, to not show fear.
It was looking at me with its many eyes.
Finally it said something. Something that
filled me with terror.
I turned to run...............

Again, lets finish this chapter....happily or not
its up to you.

Tuesdays Two day

It simply
isn't an adventure
worth telling
if
there aren't any
dragons.

I am living. I will die dreaming of doing

Sunday sunday, rainy day thoughts.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines, Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.

Under Chapter 2

2nd installment

(as written by my anonymous sister  friend)

it was a tiny saint bernard.
apparently he had shrunk too.
around his neck was a cask
that read 'drink up'
so l did.
nothing happened, still the same
but it sure calmed my nerves.
'come on george', l said to the dog.
'let's explore.'

now continuing
Its raining.
I am back under the mushroom.
It is keeping the giant raindrops off me.
Those suckers could give me a concussion for sure.
George is beside me. He is the doggie
that startled me. We have been hanging out
since he found me.
As far as I can tell, we are the only beings
that have shrunk. I drank the fluid in the cask
that George had around his neck. I didn't
grow back to normal size.
George and I have been scrounging
for food. I have been eating mostly
greens from the garden I am growing.
I have found a bit of a path that
leads to the raised beds I put
in last year. There was a rock
sitting next to the wood edging
making it possible to climb up.
At that level, (lol) I could see the
giants (regular sized humans) walking
past on the street.
Life is going on as usual for everyone.
What is going to happen to me?
Maybe this is just a dream,
and I will be waking up at any time.
George whined. I looked at him.
Something was coming. Because
we are so small, we have been
on constant vigilance. Little scary
insects are now almost George sized.
Terrifying.
If I was a little more courageous I would
harness one of those creatures and ride
it like a horse. It happens in the movies all the
time. haha, not going to happen.
The rustling was closer. It was hard to hear
with the rain falling. Hopefully the rain
was slowing down our visitor.
Suddenly, a hairy leg came out from behind
a plant. More hairy legs!
 George was starting to bark.
I grabbed his collar and we moved around behind
the mushroom. If I couldn't see the creature,
surely he couldn't see me?

What happens next? Do I get eaten by a
giant arachnid or do I braid together some
blades of grass into a harness and make that
spider my new pet???

Under, the beginning

1st installment

I peered around the base of the mushroom I was hiding under.
What kind of Alice in Wonderland hell was I in.
Did I eat the little cake  that shrunk me?
I don't remember eating anything at all.
I could hear rustling in the freaking
tall grass in front of me.
My mind could only imagine what was coming
towards me.
If I was this small, than all the little creatures
that scared the crap out of me
would be like, large dog sized???
My heart was racing, I don't think
I can deal with this.....
I decided to take action, I looked around
and found a stick...or what looked like a stick
to me. I held it at shoulder height ready to
swing.
The rustling got closer accompanied with
the sound of munching?
Oh this was not going to work.
I looked around for a path.
Ah ha, an opening behind me.
I started running, running
away from the rustling and
munching sound.
I ran for what seemed like
miles before I stopped to
take a breath.
I closed my eyes.
In and out, in and out,
I tried to calm myself
down, surely this
was a bad dream and soon
I would wake. I willed
myself to wake, but
couldn't.
I opened my eyes.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Purple Fluff

Have you ever woken up to something that shouldn't be?
Mine was purple fluff.
One morning I awoke from a strange dream. Some of the characters were
familiar faces but from different time periods in my life.
The premise of the dream was fading quickly and I couldn't hold onto it.
Hmmm, laid there and tried to catch it, but alas it was gone.
I got up and went for a glass of water. As I was coming out of my
weird dream fog, I started to look around and that is when I noticed it.
Purple Fluff.
All over the floor. Little bits of Purple Fluff. What the heck??
I looked around but couldn't see anything that could account for
all this fluffy stuff. I got out my magnifying glass and looked at it closely.
Definitely a fibre of some sort.
My mind started thinking of scenarios that would account for this.
Was there a Purple Sheep wrestling match while I was in dreamland?
I don't have any purple stuffies so that rules out toys coming to life at night and
having parties.
Ohhhh, maybe it was a house hippo family that were fighting over a
fluffy purple blanket that they slept with. Those you never see. They are too
good at staying hidden. Like the lochness monster. You know its there,
but can't confirm its existence.
Well if its a house hippo family, than I am ok with that.

I ate breakfast, checked my emails and then grabbed the vacuum. I had
decided that I really didn't want to know how the Purple Fluff got there,
so I sucked it up into the vacuum and will now attempt to forget about
it. I have noticed though, my blue fluffy blanket has gone missing......
