Once again, another year has gone by.
2023 started with me coming to grips with the reality that moving somewhere else in
Canada wasn't feasible. After I mourned that idea I started to realize that a
change of some kind was needed in my life and if it couldn't be a new place, what would
suffice?
In July I gave my notice to my dream job of being a pattern maker, sample sewer and creative
thinker. I finished my work the middle of August and gave
myself permission to do nothing for a month. I kept my eye on the wanted
ads in case something spectacular came up.
I started a new job the end of September, still feeling like I needed more time off,
but not having a secret stash of money to accommodate my whims.
So at the end of 2023 I am working in a post office in a Pharmasave and one
positive is standing up straight all day is better on my arthritic neck...
I am missing a creative aspect to my work, but this will suffice for now.
2024 started with me not making any resolutions....and when my birthday
came up I decided the new thing I was going to try would be Fishermans
rib stitch in knitting. I am loving its simplicity and squishiness. I am working
on a shallow shawl out of one of my favourite colours.
So I'll finish with something that has been on my mind for a while now and I've said before.
Time goes on whether we want it to or not, so its ok to just float along with it for awhile,
but our time on this earth is relatively short in the grand scheme of life, so don't wait too long
to do something you've always wanted to do and if its not possible to do that than think about
smaller things that are possible and try those.
Ever looking at the world as a child,
Suzanne

I guess it wasn't the right timing for your move to a new location. Good for you making the changes you can. We will see what 2024 brings.
