Have I told you
how much I love
a day
that's dark
and dreary
No sun
to burn
or leave me
parched
like fallen leaves
ready to crumble
into bits
and blow across
the desert
like tumbleweed
no direction
My dark and dreary
brings
a huge crack of thunder
and
soon
it is teeming
with raindrops
that
quench
even the driest
of crumbled
and windblown
souls
Have I told you
how much I love
a dark and dreary
day like today.
